Steven Patrick Morrissey was born in Davyhulme, Lancashire in 1959 as famous for his singing as he is for his personal views and beliefs.

Morrissey originally found fame, certainly here in the UK in the early 80s as lead singer and main lyricist for indie band, The Smiths. The Smiths gained cult status amongst the students of the time, during their launch in 1982 and split in 1987.

Going solo in 1988, Morrissey again found fame and recorded several top ten hits and number 1 records, including his debut solo album “Viva Hate”. During 1988 and today Morrissey has taken a couple of breaks from the industry to focus on other things close to his heart.

4 studio albums with The Smiths. 14 solo studio albums. Many compilation albums with The Smiths and solo and album sales across the world into the millions, Morrissey has enjoyed success on many fronts in many countries.
