Formed in 2009, Beady Eye were a British rock band. The bands origins lie in the 1990s/noughties band Oasis, and included lead singer Liam Gallagher, guitarists Gem Archer and Andy Bell and drummer Chris Sharrock. In 2013, Jay Mehler joined the band to play the bass on tour.
The band’s genesis lay in Noel Gallagher’s departure from Oasis in 2009. Liam had said the remaining band members would “not quit making music together”, and true to their word released 2 studio albums: “Different Gear, Still Speeding” in 2011 and “BE” in 2013. Both reached the Top 5 in the UK Album Chart, however fame began to decline in late 2013, until Liam Gallagher tweeted that Beady Eye has disbanded in October 2014.
