Formed in 1975, Motorhead were an English rock band including bassist singer-songwriter Ian Fraser ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister, drummer Lucas Fox and guitarist Larry Wallis.
Over the course of a career spanning nearly 40 years, Motorhead released 23 studio albums, 10 live recordings and 5 EPs. Their success in the early 1980s included “No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith” and “Overkill” albums, selling over 30 million albums worldwide. Having evolved from 1970s London punk, their lyrics famously covered substance abuse, war and gambling.
Lemmy died of cancer in December 2015, which meant that the band would no longer produce music, but their reputation as a top-tier rock band lives on.
